post-switchover analysis
I’ve been running WordPress 1.2 on my other site for a few months and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, so when I heard that 1.5 was out, I decided it was time to convert bwal.net too. 1.5 is fabulous. Much appreciated improvements? The template editor, and static pages. Improvements I had hoped to see but aren’t here yet? Batch category editing and adding a new category from the “Write Post” screen.
As far as the switch goes, so far, so good. A few things are still in the works (update: all done!):
- static pages for:
the lists of blogging librariesthe bibliographyabout pagemy talks/articles
redirects for all old linksa working RSS feed. The new feed is up & running but when I attempt to subscribe to it in Bloglines, it doesn’t recognize it. Grumble.a working redirect from the old feed. I think this is working too, but it’s hard to tell when your new feed isn’t registering. Grumble, grumble.categories. And categorizing all archived posts.
Drop me a line if you notice any oddities, would you?
