pecha kucha @ CiL2008

I think I’ve finally got the hang of saying it right (that is p’CHA k’CHA — and that’s as close as I can get to spelling it phonetically). This session was easily the most fun panel I’ve been a part of. Also? The most difficult in terms of preparation. It should come as no surprise to anyone that brevity is hard, but I think timing was even harder. When you’ve got slides that are advancing automatically every 20 seconds, you’ve got zero margin for error, which is where the stress factored in for me. Still, totally worthwhile and something I would recommend to any conference organizer looking for a little something different in their programme. It would also make for a really interesting communication/conversation strategy at any meeting, and I’m thinking of recommending the format at MPOW.

Thank you, Helene Blowers, for bringing the idea to library conference land!

Updated April 15: Michael Sauers recorded the session and it’s now online here. Thanks, Michael!
