precon, in progress

I’m in the Academic Library 2.0 preconference at the moment and it’s going well. We have a small but excellent group of participants who seem to be pretty engaged. I did a presentation on blogs to start off the day and have included my slides below (it’s completely devoid of images; not sure why, it just is). I chose to skip over the basics about blogging and focus on some best practices, and I’m really glad I did because our participants are definitely not blogging beginners. I’ve been looking forward to the day when the majority of conference-goers have moved beyond the basics of 2.0 tools, and I think that day has come. Onward!

Also, did I mention that Chad, Jason, Meredith and Jenica are also on the roster for today? It’s a good time, folks.

Amanda – Did you get a sense what topics they wanted to know about the most?

Hi Darlene – I’d say the questions that came up the most all day were about buy-in and selling the tools/technologies/services to staff and admin.
