an (already old) article on social bookmarking
Earlier this year, I wrote an article for Feliciter, the magazine of the Canadian Library Association, for a themed issue on libraries and social software. My article, entitled “The Brave New World of Social Bookmarking: Everything You Always Wanted to Know but Were Too Afraid to Ask” (pithy titles are not my strong suit) is available here in PDF for your reading pleasure. It’s old news, but I promised CLA (by way of an author’s agreement) that I wouldn’t post it until six months after the print publication date.
The rest of the issue was great – Geoff Harder guest-edited and did a fine job pulling together an interesting & thought-provoking collection of articles. Unfortunately, Feliciter is not available in full-text online to non-CLA members, but Geoff and Peter Binkley have also made their articles available on their respective blogs:
- Connecting the Dots: Social Software and the Social Nature of Libraries, Geoff Harder
- Wikipedia Grows Up, Peter Binkley
Enjoy!
