2.0., indeed

I interrupt the stream of il2006 catch-up posts (which will continue for the next several days — lazy blogger!) to join the host of other bloggers (biblio & other) who have announced their love for Firefox 2.0. I just downloaded it today, on my Mac & my work PC and the experience has been brilliant so far. I have to admit that I was skeptical about many of the “features” listed in the release notes, mostly because I’ve been able to do many of those things in Firefox for months already (like one-click rss subscriptions right into Bloglines), thanks to some brilliant extensions. But when I read about the built-in spell checker, I knew I had to give it a go & I’m trilled that I did! If for no other reason than it now makes the clunky web interface for my work email a wee bit more tolerable. And even though Livelines was my favourite add-on for the longest time, the integrated RSS handler does make subscribing to feeds in Bloglines a couple of clicks easier.

So, all of this is to say that Firefox continues to rock! Go get it now. And tell all your friends.

I can’t resist. Spell checkers can only catch nonexistent words. Although the thought of a little bird sitting over your desk, trilling to you for using Firefox, is actually somewhat charming.

As you know, I agree regarding Firefox–and it’s a good post, as usual.
