CiL: arrival

We got to DC over an hour late yesterday — we’re almost certain our pilot simply slept in as we were in the plane, on the tarmac for over an hour before he showed up. So, an hour late means that I missed “Wikis in Action”, the Wednesday morning session that I was really looking forward to. Oh well. Back-up options were plentiful and I found a session to duck into as soon as I got to the hotel.

So, here begins the conference blogging. I’ve decided to do summaries of the sessions instead of steady-stream note-taking (as I’ve done in the past) for a couple of reasons:

• WiFi is here but not ubiquitous (in the halls, not in the conference rooms), which means none of this is “real time” in any sense, so I actually can look up links and things before hitting “publish”;
• in the delay between note-taking and posting, I usually have formulated a response to what I’ve heard and will probably want to editorialize, therefore a summary with comments will probably work best.
