blogs & cms
I’ve been investigating content management systems for our library’s online research guides (a great session by a bunch of York University librarians at the OLA Conference got me on to this) and just came across Greg Sennema’s article (added to the bibliography) on the CMS he created for his institution. For those of you who like the functionality of blogs but are frustrated by the limited customization options, you might want to consider building your own CMS (especially if you have a willing IT department behind you!) Greg built his to incorporate a Reference blog, which is one of the truly great things about designing your own system – the possibilities are bounded only by your imagination (and, realistically, time & budget).
